The Gut Microbiome

We have about 10 X more bacteria than normal cells on and in our body! These bacteria can influence a person risk of getting cancer. Did you know the bacteria in the gut can speed up the making of cancer cells, affect the immune system, and is needed to absorb and make nutrients needed by the body to be healthy!? This is quickly becoming known as the Second Genome and a new field exploring the 'Oncobiome' is emerging hoping to make an impact on personalizing cancer treatment
